Honourable Governor of Chhattisgarh Flags Off Mobile Medical Units as Part of REC Limited CSR Initiative

Raipur, Chhattisgarh — On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, the Hon’ble Governor of Chhattisgarh, Shri Ramen Deka, inaugurated four Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) under a CSR initiative by REC Limited in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Chhattisgarh. The flagging-off ceremony took place in Raipur, in the esteemed presence of Shri Vivek Kumar Dewangan, Chairman and Managing Director of REC Limited, along with senior officials from REC and IRCS Chhattisgarh.

To Strengthen its commitment to accessible healthcare, REC Limited has pledged ₹4.83 crore in financial support for the procurement and deployment of these MMUs, covering operational expenses for a period of three years. This initiative aims to bridge the gap in healthcare services for underserved communities by bringing essential medical care directly to the door-steps of deprived sections in the four districts of Chhattisgarh.

The initiative aligns with REC Foundation’s broader commitment to healthcare accessibility, with REC currently operating 10 Mobile Health Clinics under its ‘Doctor Apke Dwar’ CSR project in various districts of Bihar. By expanding its healthcare outreach, REC Limited continues to address critical healthcare needs in rural and remote areas, exemplifying its dedication to community welfare and sustainable development.

REC has also been made the nodal agency for certain States and Union Territories for the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS). REC has also been given the responsibility of PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojna from Central Government. The loan book of REC stands at ₹5.46 lakh crore and Net Worth at Rs. ₹72,893 crores as on 30^th September, 2024.
